Meet Lou! My ever reliable first-in-command sewer/beader. If you ever bought a MnM piece, you will know what I'm talking about. She is the one who makes sure every piece is of the highest quality.

And these are our latest babies! The mother/daughter pieces that come in the most gorgeous pastel colors! They come in super soft velvets and chiffons! I am very excited about this collection because this is the first time I will be making identical pieces for moms and daughters!

And here is our piece de resistance! Look at the hand-making effort that went to it, Japanese beads hand-stitched onto a flimsy chiffon headband base! As usual, it

Here are the instructions on how to purchase your dream pieces:

1. The SALE will be held ONLINE to give way to customers in the province and outside the country.

2. It will be posted at at Ken Samudio's Facebook account (kenkeneeto@gmail.com).
3. The quantity of each design will be stated accordingly.

4. It will be on a first come first serve basis. No special requests or reservations will be granted!

5. Important: If you decide to purchase a particular piece, WRITE DOWN THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU REGISTERED WITH on the COMMENT SECTION plus the PURCHASE CODE that you will receive through your email! No other comment is necessary.

If you fail to include your email address and purchase code on your comment, your order will be deemed as VOID.
If you enter your email add and purchase code on the comment section first, the piece is yours! (We will notify you thru your email with the order information).

If you still want to take a chance for a particular piece, you can still write down your email address. If the first customer fails to get the piece, it will be given to the person next in line.

6. If the piece you like is available in several quantities, the first few customers to fill up the slot gets the pieces, depending on the quantity of the design. If a customer wants to purchase more than one piece of a particular design, just write down the number after your email address. Again its subject to the pieces' availability.

7. Payment should be made IMMEDIATELY on the next BUSINESS DAY. Failure to do so will deem your order void and the piece will be given to the person next in line.

Matthew&Melka Bridal Collection 2010 Sneak Peek!

I can finally breathe because I am able to edit and upload the photos for my Bridal Collection for 2010. This has been long overdue because I was not able to use my Mac book Pro because of a defective charger.

I am so excited to show you my latest collection of hand-made (as always) bridal headpieces for the bride, bridesmaid or any girl who would be attending a wedding for that matter.

This time I veered away from the usual head wrap style and resorted back to the good ol' headband. You will be so excited to know that I have incorporated hand-curled silk flowers, swarovski and rhinestone crystals in each piece.

You can go from sparkly, shining shimmering thingies to blind everyone ha-ha, or you can go subtle with champagne colored crystals for that low-key classic look. Any which way, you will look GORGEOUS!

That is what MnM is all about. Making you happy, confident and special on that extra special day! I'd love to hear from you!

The lovely Anne Curtis and Her MnM!

I was so excited yesterday to see Anne Curtis wearing her ANNA headpiece from Matthew&Melka. If I'm not mistaken, it is her third time to wear the headpiece on the show SHOWTIME.

A little behind-the-scenes story.

Kris Aquino bought tons of headpieces the first time she asked me to bring samples of my work to ABS-CBN. I was literally stunned because she bought more than a dozen pieces. I was surprised when she told me to segregate the pieces she bought for Anne, Bea etc.

I later learned that she was getting Matthew&Melka not only for herself but gifts for the people close to her as well which I find rather sweet in contrast with her stern and intimidating appearance (More about Miss Kris on my next blog).

Anne on the other hand, wore that multi-colored headpiece on the first day of SHOWTIME. She was also interviewed on SNN referring the headpiece as a lucky charm from Kris Aquino. Well I guess they are not just the lucky ones! It created minions of MnM followers and helped propel MnM as a serious designer headpiece brand in the country.

So yesterday, I tweeted Anne and thanked her for wearing the headpiece yet again. And she replied with this " Hi! I wore it again in Showtime! It was given to me by Ate Kris as a gift. If you have other designs, I'd love to see them!"

I almost died and went to heaven! I texted Mariel R. and told her the news. She was so kind and excited for me that she even offered to accompany me to Anne next week! She even confided to me that I shouldn't worry coz "Anne is so nice and kind, she doesn't have a mean bone on her body!" Haha! That made me laugh! Ma sure knows how to make people feel at ease.

Anyways, I am now preparing pieces for Anne and I'm super excited to show it to her! Life is good! I love my job! And I love you guys! Wish me luck!

MnM GALAXY HEADPIECE

This is just one of the avant-garde headpiece I'm busying myself with. I call it the GALAXY HEADPIECE. Its a circular metal ring with a black mesh net embriodered with crystals and rhinestones. MY BRIDAL COLLECTION IS SO WAITING TO BE LAUNCHED

I'm a bit upset that I am still not able to edit and upload the photos for MnM's Bridal Collection 2010 just because of a simple problem. A Macbook PRO Charger.

Everything would have been dandy if I only have a regular notebook. I could easily borrow a charger from neighbors or even friends. I love the Macbook Pro and all its utilities and amazing photo editing capabilities, but this are one of the times I wish I had a normal PC to work on.

My old desktop is literally useless for photo editing and stuff. I can only use this for surfing and updating my many accounts on the net. One of my friends promised to lend me her charger but for some unknown reason, I haven't heard from her since yesterday when we agreed to meet up (late at night) to get the charger. I called and texted her several times but to no avail.

The Macbook Pro is still under warranty and I'm still waiting for my charger replacement but it's taking ages to get it. It would be a total waste of money (5k) to buy a new one at this time.

Oh well, let's see what happens after this. Wish me luck MnM peeps!

The Headpiece That Started It All

As you all know, Matthew&Melka is the only premiere, high-end designer headpiece that launched a thousand minions of headpiece designers in the Philippines. MnM is also the first to augment the huge void in the head-wear category in the country.

To set things clear and I know a lot of people would raise their eyebrows on this. But we were never inspired by the Gossip Girl mania that swept the whole world several years ago. To be honest, I never heard of Gossip girl or its muse Blair even before we started making headpieces. We opened our multiply shop December of 2007 and started selling headpieces to family and friends (of the arm-twisting kind hehe).

I am not the least affected when people "accuse" us of riding the gossip girl trend. Don't get me wrong, I am forever grateful to Blair and Jennifer (Behr) for opening doors for a lucrative head wear industry, but give us some credit if you may, for we always try to create headpieces that are uniquely MnM. Uniquely Filipino.

To prove our point, here is the "MARIEL HEADPIECE" that we created specially for Mariel Rodriguez July of 2008. Our very first design that launched our career as serious headpiece designers. (A big career jump from our backyard efforts several months ago.) It is unique, playful and sophisticated at the same time.

I still love this piece.

Would you agree if I launch a re-issue of this design but in different, gem-colored fabrics and shining shimmering crystals at the center instead of acrylic gems?
